chip crisis and ram optimizer apps

we are all affected by the crisis and so ram optimizer apps get more and more important. i was hoping to find here a opensource app. i found here nothing, besides maybe a discussion or request of RAMagic or so.
i had long time ago one but cant remember the name and try to relieve it else/differently.
if i get to and find a nice opensource app, i try to post a request, as RAMagic seem only freeware.
lets see if we get such an app in the repository soon to assuage the pain, i'm looking to it.

Snake Oil

RAM optimizers are snake oil and don't actually get you more memory. They just force Windows and some other apps to dump cache, which they'll do anyway when RAM is tight.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

thx for tip

a geat tetimonial on RAMagic like "the pc was suddenly fast as new" misleaded me.
i can try furter get a bit more free space and increase the outsource file, let see if it gets better by the lame hdd.
i think hdd has only 5400rpm but i think that should do it for now.
i read somewhere that microsoft wants to make windows smoother and modest.
i can tell you that its very good idea, as it and browsers seem to get almost all ram since i used them first.
i stopped the behind tab load and try things from pc mags if they seem make sense, like better make a permanent outsource file size then dynamic.
thx

i help where i can. maybe you can help me too. see in account/track

RAM Optimizers will never fill a lack of physical memory, they may (simulate a) help when the memory is overused. in fact they can be compared to Defragmentation Apps.

P.S. Even if (sometimes) they transform a chameleon into an snap dragon.

ram cache per partition? function unclear

UPDATE just a quick understanding question about the function of the per partition split of ram cache.
1) is it ok to split ram cache to diff partitions? makes it any issues?
2) i have few gb on c: and few more on a far away partition, as its the less complicated option here.
i dont want to try to merge hdd space over many partitions, its to risky.
i arranged it the way that c: has still few gb free if the cache should be full and gave more on a partition where i have possibility to give more space.
not sure if it boders if the ram cache is splitted on 2 partitions, so asking.
i also setted it as not managed by system, as got a very reliable tip to do so.
so i have only the one mentioned question.
thx
