The entire FF interface is written in XUL. That file is the cache of said interface elements. It was always disabled in previous instance of Portable FF )to save space) but was enabled for 1.5 as it caused odd display issues.

firsthand with FF 1.5 and some extensions. Turning XUL cache back on made the issue go away. Turning it back off caused the issue to reappear. It mainly occured with 1.0 profiles that were upgraded and was a partial cause of the large extra space at the bottom of the screen above the status bar issue.

I've disabled the Xul cache on FF 1.5 and really I don't have any problem!
