Downloads Issue - Alternate Download Links (July 25, 2007)

Due to a configuration issue within SourceForge's download mirroring network all download links coming in from outside domains are failing. It's affecting all SourceForge project downloads and multiple tickets have been submitted. No details or ETA.

App Links Updated

All the links to download apps within the Portable Apps Directory have been updated to use the "two step" links into SourceForge. This requires you to select the file to download. The appropriate link will be something similar to AppName_Portable_1.2.3.paf.exe.

Other Links

For other links to downloads from the forums or other locations within this site, you can copy and paste the address into your browser's location bar and it will work. You can also click the link and then click on your browser's location bar and hit enter to get around the SourceForge bug.

UPDATE (July 26): After about 8 hours, SourceForge finally fixed the issue. I've set the links back to normal.

Link Removed

There are additional issues within SourceForge causing incorrect and incomplete files to download when you download from within a SF project. I'd rather not link users to invalid files.

Stop it

Little,

They still don't work.
Just let it go and let John handle it.
I knew it wasn't working 5 min after John Posted it.

Just wait, Please.

No Problem

Yeah,

Sometimes we just gotta let the "Big Boys" do their stuff Smile

Trust me, no one wants the New ClamWin more than I do.
I'll be on a modem tomorrow so if it's not available by the end of the work day I'll need to wait till Friday Sad

But ya gotta do, what ya gotta do,
and sometimes whatcha gotta do is hurry up and wait Smile

All the Best

We could use the mirrors of German Openoffice.org

... if You want.
The only thing I need is the file for upload.

Marko

Links Updated

I've updated all the links in the apps directory to use the indirect file links which require you to click the .PAF.EXE file to download the app you want. It's imperfect but better than blank pages for new users.

For other links (forums, support pages, etc), I've come posted info on a work-around in the main topic.

Nope,

No worky there either. The download links appear to work, but they're zero-byte downloads. SF's having serious issues.

SourceForge fixed the issue. I've gone through and updated all the links back to the usual way.
