Spyware found in command_prompt_portable_1.0.paf.exe

I'm a new, and now somewhat worried user. Yesterday, after first experimenting with the Suite and deciding to begin portable app'ing, I tried to download and install my first standalone application (see subject). As soon as the download completed, my spyware blocker (Zone Alarm) popped up a warning that it was infected. The message was specific but I was too startled to write it down in my haste to first quarantine and then delete the file. Now I'm worried that other portable app's might be similarly infected. What kind of pre-screening is done on these applications, and what is done to prevent corruption while on SourceForge?

False Positive

This is a false positive. NONE of the apps on this site contain any viruses or spyware. Unless multiple antivirus or antispyware clients confirm it is infected, there is no issue. If you are truly worried, scan the file with a few other scanners. If they ALL report it as an issue, let us know, if one or two out of lets say 10, report it as an issue, it's a false positive.

Two out of three agree

That it is OK. ClamWin and SAV give it a thumbs up, so I guess I'll give it a try (with ZA still watching for unauthorized activity).

Don't Report

In the future, please don't report issues like this unless you have CONFIRMED that it has spyware or a virus as explained on the support page. Dealing with false-positive reports because of other commercial products' mistakes is time-consuming... remember, we're doing this for free... so some of the onus of support is on you.

And with millions of apps downloaded, it would be rather amazing if you were the first person to catch an issue.

Zone Alarm seems to suck :

I found this one out on the internets :

thiscontained a virus named thisisnotavirus and installed into my system 32 files not-a-virus:Client-IRC.Win32.mIRC.621 that is the file path name where it was found by zone alarm

Yes, he actually posted that in the "virus-warning"
