Regular .exe programs

Hello,

I can only install .paf.exe programs when I chose for "Install a New App".

I have Office 2007 (word, excel, powerpoint) in portable format, how can I add these executables so they are coming visible in the apps menu like Firefox Portable.

I also have other programs which are portable and would like to see in the list under FireFox is this possible?

On softpedia.com I downloaded foobar2000 portable, why cannot I install it like Firefox Portable.paf.exe (Options->Install a New App.)?

I hope you folks understand what i mean :).

Kind Regards,
Jordi

The menu

picks up any exe file in a subfolder of the PortableApps folder:
G:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu
G:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe
G:\PortableApps\YourAppname\yourapp.exe

And in the "install a new App" window the standard filter is *.paf.exe but you can select *.exe if you have a selfextractor. If you just have a folder with the App in it, its best to just copy it in.

I have another question when

I have another question when there are several .exe files in a folder, how can I only make only one .exe visible as in the screenshot.

http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w199/jordicc/?action=view&current=acr...

When I move the other .exe to a new subfolder (to make them invisible) the AcroRd32.exe doesn't work anymore :(.

Cheers,
Jordi

You cant

(yet).
In the current beta you cant. But in the final you will can and there are some mods (not officially supported but working well) where you can remove the exes from the menu without deleting them.

I solved that problem coping

I solved that problem coping all the files in another subfolder and creating (with delphi) a program that just starts the primary exe in the subfolder... practically an exe that starts another exe...

Isn't it illegal...

To modify Office 2007 or any other program made by Micro$oft?

It is illegal to distribute

It is illegal to distribute a modified version (or even an unmodified version for that matter). Making a separate launcher is perfectly legal.

It depends on whether the

It depends on whether the EULA allows it. And there are a couple brazillian EULAs for Office alone, depending on which variant you use. Both modification and external launching may be prohibited.

They can't prohibit someone

They can't prohibit someone from using software for which they hold no copyright (like a launcher).

He isn't using a launcher

He isn't using a launcher though. It looks like he modified the actual program!

Oh ok sorry...
It is just I saw the acrobat program and it looked like you just copied the files from the original program into the PAM Directory...
Sorry 'bout that.
