I have just uploaded Xenon Portable 1.0 (my file manager) to it's sourceforge project. I was thinking it would be handy to have here on PortableApps.com and in the Suites. It could be run when one presses the Docs, Pics, etc. buttons on the PAM. It has local file associations so they can be taken with you. It includes a program I wrote called 6-Zip that extracts archives using 7-Zip so end users can carry a zip program with them without having to use 7-Zip. Would you like to have it here?
(If you want to see it, it is at http://sourceforge.net/projects/xenon-portable/)
Thanks.
... is ready.
if You want it, please let me know.

I think it's much to early in development and people are going to be complaining that it doesn't have the features they're used to, and the views they are used to, and it's currently a little hard for the regular user to navigate in. Like, it's coming to be a very good open source file manager, but I think it's too early.
And it's still buggy as well, like I'm not sure whether it's been fixed, but Xenon couldn't find 6-Zip unless it was running from a portable apps setup, X:\PortableApps, and the extraction location had to be manually specified.

Well, I haven't gotten any bug reports yet so I assumed no one came across any. I see what you mean though.

I wasn't saying anything bad about Xenon, I can honestly say, you're doing a great job and if you keep it up you will probably have the best open source file manager around, but it still lacks in features people are normally used to. Unlike e-mail clients or web browsers, most people generally stick with Explorer as a file manager, not that it exceeds in features, but it still does have more feature people are used to that are not currently in Xenon. As you're current rate, I think it should be included here at PortableApps.com once it does get better.
As for bugs, the ones I've got are sometimes dialog boxes won't close, and if I don't close them, oddly it somehow doesn't allow me to properly use other programs. (text input won't work in some programs, other programs won't launch) but that's only because I couldn't close things like "C:\PortableApps\XenonPortable\6-Zip\6-Zip.exe" was not found. I was running it from my desktop, so I don't know where it got C:\PortableApps from, and I don't think the 6-Zip folder is even s'posed to be in that directory, and when I did move it there, it didn't have the folder I click to extract, it had "\PortableApps\XenonPortable\6-Zip\6-Zip.exe" and no specified extraction folder, so I'd have to manually specify both of those. Also, it doesn't look like I can go into a zip archive, only extract it?
As well, the forward arrow? That doesn't seem to go forward for me? Is that it's purpose? And the back arrow with the red circle takes me like 5 clicks to go back sometimes.
Renaming won't work for me? Shortcut keys also aren't working for me, they just open the folder of launch the program/file.
When I press F7 to make a new folder it like scrolls continually for like 5 seconds then stops, and then I have to go manually select to rename my folder whereas in Explorer, the default text input is in the name of your new folder after you create it. Clicking on Filesize, Date Modified etc won't sort them in reverse order for me. Maybe it's not s'posed to, but people are used to it. Sometimes it takes a while to go back a folder.
Those are just things I got when spending a couple minutes with it right now. Not that it isn't a good program, I no I could do nothing close, with more development I do think it will make a great file manager, but right now, I don't think it's ready for the public, who are used to many different features.

The forward arrow is a go/enter button. How would you choose what folder to go forward into?

It doesn't work for that either....it works from the root, down to any 1 directory, but won't go below that.

In explorer, when you click back, forward brings you back into the folder you were just in, I thought that one might work when I went back a directory.

I use it all the time. And there have been no bugs whatsoever that I have seen. Plus, many users would find that some of the apps are not what they are used to (e.g. VLC, Firefox [from IE perspective], and even I don't understand WinSCP Portable). I disagree. I would love to see Xenon Portable in the official apps list.
