I recently downloaded v.2.0.0.6 and set the same account options as the laptop version but I still download the same old messages, as if they were new.
how can I do?

The new copy of Thunderbird doesnt know which messages are "new" on the other copy of Thunderbird so it downloads all messages from the server again.
