Here's the deal. When MV2 player is installed in the root directory of the drive it works fine. But since I wanted to get to it through the portable apps start menu I dragged and dropped it into the portable apps folder. (The whole MV2 player folder not just the exe). Ok so it works now but the .ini & custom settings revert to default. Next step was to copy the .ini file from my C programs directory installed copy of MV2Player to the USB drive. That didn't fix anything and I checked the ini file in the USB drive and it had my custom settings and skins.
Here is something really odd. When I copy the MV2player directory from C:\program files to the root of the USB drive MV2 player works perfectly whether being accessed from X:\PortableApps\MV2player or the root directory. But only if it is also located in the root directory of the USB drive. If I try to delete MV2player from the root directory and access it from X:\PortableApps I get the same problem of MV2player reverting to the default settings and skin. It doesn't even show my custom skins in the skin menu even though its in the skins folder.
Any ideas? I searched the forums and couldn't find a problem similar to this one.
no one huh?
