Problem with forums and graphics

In IE6 (I'd use Firefox, but it's a crappy school computer), the mini images on the forum (read icon, unread icon, smileys) appear and then just vanish -- they load, and then one by one disappear down the page.

What's going on?!

I really, really hate Internet Explorer. My guess is that the hack I'm using to get transparent PNGs to work right in IE (they don't work by default) is messing with the PNGs for the forum. That's why you see them for a minute and then don't. I'll look into it.
