With the ever increasing capacity of USB Sticks / Thumb Drives / Flash Drives it's maybe an idea to have a Deluxe edition. Hmm maybe they should be named after storage capacity. PortableAppsPlatform 256, 512, 1024 referring to the available space it is designed for.
I noticed quite a few user submitted portable apps but their splash screen has a completely diferent look and feel. Some installers dont even start on the right location by default. I skipped those for now. Maybe an Official "unofficial" splash screen would be a start to the solution. Not having the PA logo but the size, look and feel a bit closer to the ones used in PA platform.
But I'm drifting off topic. I would hope a Deluxe Edition would include all PA certyfied apps included. As a new user I was under the impression all these apps were included and looking at the Standard app list I was like, oh that's less than expected. Some of these apps are rather small in size and when using a 1GB stick it 'seems' I still hae enough space to spare. (I admit, having no documents will geve that impression fast 
Maybe it's because I'm a newbie because I fill the stick up with apps some of which I never knew of, some of I probably never use.
PC. would it be possible to have a platform only copy tool, so I could easily give friends a copy of my USB stick but without my personal settings and ducuments?

When I make the download live, somehow I hopefully get a password (possible password protection in a self-extracting 7-zip) that you need to unlock it. For a limited time though, I'll make it so that you can just download and use it free (say about a week?)
As for the wall paper, we'd need a red portableapps paper to be turned into gold. That would also require a diffrent installer (not 7-zip but probably a nsis, which I don't know)

I tried both 7-Zip and the M$ Winblow$ Extraction utility. But the latter said that there were no files to extract. Maybe you should repackage the theme and make downloads 4 the .zip and .7z formats. I downloaded it twice.

I love it! Definitely a good idea! Lets just hope peeps don't steal this, so you don't have to make a PAGTGA (PortableApps Gold Theme Genuine Advantage)!
A suggestion: With the Icon Theme, base it off the default but make it look like the icons are encased in Gold and or Platinum (lets call it Platinum rather than silver since it would sound more exquisite)!

Right now, I've got "hosting" via a geocities site.
What I need is way to control the release so John gets the suggested donation, not this thing where I just change the password every week.('cause that'll get real old and isn't much as far as control).
I was thinking if you wanted the pasword you'd have to email me a screenshot or something that says you made the donation, then I'd email you a password.
If you've got a way to control it so only those who donate get the password, it'd be wonderful if you'd host it, but otherwise, my site hasn't been locked down due to over usage of it 4.2 mg an hour limit. What they do/my complaints. Not to be offensive, but I be pretty much in the same boat as far as controlling it, which is what I'm most concerned about.
If you've got a way to "control" it, It'd be wonderful if you would host it for me, and I would be thankful.
