Some beginner tips wanted

I would like to try my hand at creating a wrapper for a small flash card program. I have installed it and run it and found some registery settings that are created and used. I would like to find out more about how I can manage this is NSIS.

Could someone please point me to a nice easy example of how registery settings are handled? I have had a look at a few, but all of the scripts I look at are HUGE!! I just want to see a nice easy one to get my head around how to do it.

I guess what I'll need to do is:
1. Create the registery settings on startup, and
2. Clean up afterwards.

I think

a good piece of source code for beginners is Notepad:
The backup of the possible local keys is from line 191 to 193 with the exclusions for certain usertypes (guest etc) before.
And the restoration process begins at 286-292.
That should make the script less HUGE...
Other scripts with rather easy registry stuff are OSK (on screen keyboard) and VirtualDub.

Pencil Portable or WinMerge Portable should be simple enough for you. If they aren't, let me know and I'll write one up for you.
