I'm not posting this to the requested apps section, because I don't have a specific appliction name.
What I'm wondering, does anyone know of an open source, help desk ticketing system?
I'd love to take on the 'programming/conversion' task of converting to a portable application. I've found several freeware applications but they all seem to require a web server. I know you could 'probably' setup one of these to work with xampp, but I was hoping for a more self-contained solution.
Every time I search for an application and come up empty handed, I'm always surprised at how much better other people seem to be with googling.
Thanks in advance

I know it's not what you want to hear but I never go past BugZilla running on XAMMP.
Does exactly what i need, is free and fast.
I've not installed BugZilla, but thanks for the suggestion. Based on the assumption that I have to use XAMMP, I went ahead and installed 'phpHelpDesk' from Sourceforge. It seems to work just fine, after you copy the 'include' files from the phpHD folder back to the XAMMP/php/pear folder. Aside from a few 'Your base are belong to us' type translation issues everything seems to work fine.
I'm a one-man tech support company and now I've got an ticket support system that goes with me! No more emailing myself with help desk tickets.
