P2Portable

I know, I know, I did a search and see people have posted about Ares p2p client before, AND that someone is working on one, but the one that is being worked on doesn't seem to be working and hasn't been updated. So if you could get a portable apps version of ares, PLEASE do so, or if not ares any open source P2P client. A p2p could be like one of the best portable apps ever, download anything, anywhere!.

here's the ares website: http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

eMule

Is already portable, just unzip on PDrive...

BTW, it is not recommended to run a P2P program on your PDrive due to increase in read/write cycles, that mean, reduction in the lifespan of your PDrive... my solution is "not portably at all", I have eMule and my incoming folder on my Pdrive but my temp folder is deep hidden in my office computer (indeed it is inside system32 folder in windows folder, and is called hpdriver... let see who will dare to mess with it... lol)... it is not forbidden to have on the computer and is not blocked on the network, but I just want to prevent stupid secretaries and partners to "play with my stuff"...

and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

emule

My colleague left emule running on his computer while he went on vacation, without setting any limits, and it eventually took over all the bandwidth on the network. When their website stopped working, the business owners weren't pleased. It didn't matter much how deep the folder was hidden, they figured it out eventually. (If he had limited the bandwidth, nobody would have noticed...)

well

That shouldn't happen to me...

1. I have limits on my eMule
2. It's on my Pdrive, I'll never go on vacation (not even out of the office) letting the Pdrive connected... Wink

Sharaza

The best P2P application to portablise of course would be Sharaza and not any other since it is so safe to use.

I think...

John said he had done it at one point. I don't remember for sure though.

Well

Now that I'm thinking more on this... just use nTorrent, I don't like it, never worked for me, but it's already a portable P2P, so if you like it and it works for you... use it... Wink
