I was on sourceforge, and I came across an open source version of Yahtzee that looked interesting.
it's written in c++
From what I can see on their web site (and on sourceforge) , it looks like there was a portable edition made up for one of the older versions of Open Yahtzee, so it should be fairly portable as it is. But I think it would be nice to see a paf version of this too.
Everyone know how to play Yahtzee. A nice simple game. The UI looks good to boot!
Maybe if you contact the Author, he'd put up a new 1.8 portable edition for you.
Edit: I just emailed the author asking hime to bump up the portable version to the 1.8 codebase. Join me! There's strength in numbers! His email is on the following page at the bottom.

Cancer Survivors -- Remember the fight, celebrate the victory!
Help control the rugrat population -- have yourself spayed or neutered!
This is how you ask a dev nicely to bump up the version # of a program.
Hello Mr Rutenberg!
I'm coming to you from the PortableApps forums as someone posted a link to your Open Yahtzee program. Problem is that it looks like only the 1.7 version (with some fixes) is available in a portable format. When you find some time, could you please bump up the portable version to the latest codebase.
Thank you!

Response from the the program's author:
Hi xxx,
I hope I will have the time to so this weekend, so come and check the Open Yahtzee website around Sunday.
Regards,
Guy
And there you have it. Ask nicely and you can get stuff done. Check the website starting next Monday I'm thinking.

Help control the rugrat population -- have yourself spayed or neutered!
When he gets that done I'll put it in the PortableApps.com format.

Wow, I just noticed I still had a signature, that's enough of that.
I was actually going to email him tonight, but it looks like he's already got things going.
...hopefully it will be added to the "Games" list here!
(also I fixed the open cite tag left open in his post if a mod could fix it in his and take it out of mine that would be great!)

Looks good. I'd give it a go if I had any free time, but with 17 credit hours this semester, and 3 of the 4 hardest classes required for my major, my free time is limited.

This looks pretty good. I'll take a look.

I emailed the author of Open Yahtzee again to check the status of making v1.8 of the program portable.
Hi,
I didn't have much time as I thought I will, when I talked to you last time. I've already done the necessary patches for creating a portable version, but I didn't have enough time to test them and create a package.
I will probably take another week or two (at least if my schedule keeps being so busy).
Regards,
Guy
Once Open Yahtzee v1.8 is available, I plan on making it portable.
Cancer Survivors -- Remember the fight, celebrate the victory!
Help control the rugrat population -- have yourself spayed or neutered!
Don't forget to add it.
When and if v1.8 ever gets made portable.
Cancer Survivors -- Remember the fight, celebrate the victory!
Help control the rugrat population -- have yourself spayed or neutered!
I've released the portable version of Open Yahtzee 1.8 about two days ago (I mailed you when I did).
You can get the new version from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=175453&package_id=...
and read the release announcement in
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=756456

Now we just need the portable.
