using a portable (not thumb drive)

Can I take a usb portable drive and have it work?

Specifically can I make my 160gig passport run u3 programs?

yes and no

Yes you can use a portable hard drive.

No U3 can only be run from a U3 drive.

You can find most U3 apps in a non U3 version though.

Life is about the journey not the destination!
