While this App can be installed using the Portable Apps Workaround, it would be great if it could be supported directly. It monitors multiple email addresses from the system tray and advises when any receive email (which can also be viewed).

Thanks for the find though. Seems like a nice app to have.
I apologize for not meeting the guidelines of in-depth descriptions of registry keys, etc. Hopefully it can get implemented anyway.
It is a GREAT app, particularly for those of us who do not wish to port our email over to a different client and/or for those of us on locked down systems at work (no admin privileges).
Fortunately the portableapps "workaround" does work nicely with the program; its just unfortunate that the workaround is needed rather than direct implementation
don't worry about the guidelines for now. just keep them in mind for the future. this does look like a great app, maybe somebody with more time than me can take a look at it. unfortunately it only supports POP3 accounts though
I do use mailwasher on my home computer to sort out mail before I use thunderbird as an anti spam i can easily check and delete any mail I want and being pop3 based acccount is good i can look at my mail delete any unwanted or spam mail and then doenload mail on my comp.
For people with free webmail accounts. I'll look into it.
Edit: Optional settings storage in ini file - create magic.ini file to activate it;
I'm doing it. I'll say expect to see it in beta this weekend. Saturday? Maybe sun.
So you would have a seperate program to monitor email?
Why?
Wouldn't you have to open an email program or web browser to read the email then?
Why not use TBPE or FFPE with an extension?
Already done. Uploading Now.
Anywho, I like it. As I have like three different POP accounts, and I don't wanna download all my mail when there's mail I don't wanna read, my internet's slow, and so is others. So with this, it'll check your e-mails, give you some pre-views, and you go open up whatever.com or use thunderbird if there's an e-mail you wanna read.
Personally, I love it.
??? What programs are these codes referring to ???
TBPE is Thunderbird Portable Edition and
FFPE is Firefox Portable Edition.
Thanks for the great find.
Here's a quick test for you to try. I'll post it in beta later on.
Magic Mail Monitor Portable 2.94 TEST 1
Enjoy, and please post feedback, I may have screwed things up considerably.
Wow - I had no idea you guys would jump on it this fast ... thank you
Re the person who asked what use this is ... it is of GREAT use to anyone who does not use (.... looking on the "apps posted here list for the ONLY choice of mail client ...) Thunderbird as their email client. It can also be useful to anyone who wishes to be able to check their mail easily while at work but who cannot install their email client on their work system. It is greatly useful for those of us who get a ton of spam and would like to cull it over the course of the work day. It is a whole mess-load faster than MailWasher.
At any rate, I am so happy that a number of you find it useful. I, of course, have nothing to do with its authorship ... I just found it one day.
I made an official beta topic now.
It seems to have instruction on how to set up hotmail yahoo and Gmail But i failed at it except gmail. Just so u know it works fine for me.
What is better. I like the easy format and friendly ability of mailwasher best.
I cant get my head around mmm yet it wont set up my gmail account.
if it is good can anyone help.
http://www.mailwasher.net/ maybe there should be a portable version of this.
I dont think its open source and we can only do open source at the moment.
if this is as good as people say when do you think the full release will be released.
First off, I'm not sure how popular it is, and will be. Second, they haven't made an update since October, though I don't think there's any major issues. So personally, I don't really know.
