Pardon for adding another thread about it, but I was wondering if there's any word on Shareaza being made a portable app?
I know there's an unofficial version (more of a launcher) on the forums, but it requires extra downloads, some assembly & other stuff to make it "Portable Apps Ready".
Just wondering if there's any "Official Beta" available.
There's no official beta. John mentioned a while back he had Shareaza done, but I think he may have put it aside, and it may need some launcher updating if he does decide to release it.
I was thinking of doing a file sharing program, but I wanted to get word on what John was doing in those lines...
wouldn't this need to go into portable apps development forum?
Please search before posting. ~Thanks
I'd move it if I could.
I have to mention that the unofficial version is spending some quality time in the recycling bin as there's obvious flaws in it (mostly, it only runs once per session & it won't let you eject your thumbdrive... which is very annoying).
At this point, I'm willing to setting with a good launcher similar to uTorrent Portable... which works very nice, although it can't have an official version here due to source issues (uTorrent is currently closed-source).
BTW, I started the thread here because it really doesn't have any specific category for it & previous threads are really dead (around 12 months ago).

It's not that uTorrent isn't open source, it's that we don't have a downloads server for it yet. We host all downloads on SourceForge currently, but that's open source only.
We're actually talking to the uTorrent team and BitTorrent Inc. about including it and distributing it.
