I recently installed PortableApps by way of installing the base program and then selecting a few applications to use. When I attempt to execute the menu I get the following error message:

"PortableAppsMen.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

1. Where is the log located?
2. How can I correct this problem?

What's a good portable app for backing up files via FTP to a web site (for storage)? It needs to be completely portable and should offer both full and incremental backups. The ability to upload as-is and archived files would be a plus, as would the abilty to schedule regular automatic back-ups. Any ideas? Thanks much!

What's up with Torpark/Xerox Bank. Are we going to have to pay for the service now? What about the Torpark and Democrakey we already have installed? Anyone have the lowdown?

I've heard of another IM. It's called Pidgin, and I was wondering how to make that portable, along with a number of other applications. I'll tell people of the others if they're wondering.

I have downloaded Portableapps Suite and tried to install it to my thumbdrive (ScanDisk mini Cruzer 4g) twice with no luck and now neither of my computers will recognize the thumb drive. It does start to recognize it and then says it may not work properly. I am running Windows XPs2 on my PC and Windows XPs2/Ubuntu dual boot on the laptop. I get the same on both. In device manager I get the yellow question mark. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Can someone help me access my thumb drive? It is brand new. I even removed U3 to install portable apps.

Hi. Im trying to make my own portable apps for some days but no sucess yet! I know it is not an easy process but i'll not quit trying!

I installed Total Uninstall, NSIS with the 4 plug-in needed to compile the Portable Application Template 2.0 and as far i see it is a very straigh forward template. But the problem for me is... the log that i get from total uninstall is a big mess and i can't understand what it's junk and what it's not and how use it on the template.

Is there any legal issue or other concern to post in this forum a link to a freeware portable app (non GPL) developped elsewhere? And if no, which is the recommended forum to do it? "Other apps support"?

I think, this app is really valuable for many portable app users: it's a freeware dual-pane Windows file manager!
