I created my Autorun system to start applications on a inserted drive. I made it as a executable not loaded with Windows. An icon on the desktop to the executable is activated prior to any drive being inserted. A file Action.txt replaces Autorun.inf.

Anyway it is free and what I use to autostart just about anything when a drive is inserted. The program aborts after it does its job ready for the next drive.

Wow PortableApps has been busy as of late with all the updated apps, as well as the updates being made to the platform. Has the acceptance of new apps been put on a back burner? Are we waiting for another Month to remember? Just wondering??

Are there also older versions of Opera Portable available or only the current one?

P.S.: Can someone explain, why many freeware Portable Apps are only available via download.portableapps.com (and apparently only the recent one?)

Don't know if anyone has noticed this happen (I did have search) before but FF has been using the wrong Java here.

Background: looking at a performance issue I found FF Portable was using
C:\PROGRA~1\QuickTime\QTSystem\QTJava.zip
rather than something under
\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Java

Uninstalling QT left remnants in the XP registry like
QTJAVA=C:\PROGRA~1\QuickTime\QTSystem\QTJava.zip
that needed to be tidied by hand and eye.

FF and similar apps that rely on Java are much happier now.

In regards to my last post with the security question, Is it at all possible to install a portableapps program on the U3 launchpad, or is it not compatible?

Is there any possibility of Portable apps Development team adding a password protection to the launcher? Back when I used U3, I Favorited the U3 launch pad

Well, there's little activity going around here, and it has been over six years, and I wonder if it is a good idea to discontinue PortableApps.com, just like U3, which discontinued few years ago.

Used the get new apps from the manage app button and the uTorrent app is a FAKE anti virus program it MUST be removed

DONT DOWNLOAD UTORRENT PORTABLE!

When you unpack it and install he dont start utorrent but security shield!
When i look on google it says that security shield is spyware. So dont download it.
And for the admins of the site delete the file from this site..
