I have been unable to update the platform to the latest version 23.0 for several weeks. I am using Windows 7 SP1 with updates turned off. Also some applications do not update, but I can update Mozilla Firefox as an example. Interestingly, apps can be downloaded manually with no problem through a browser, but not through the platform.

Please remove the "Sage extension for firefox" application from the RSS readers section, because the download link is no longer available or working.

This does NOT mean those files are infected; only that ClamAV alerted on them. Current signature base for ClamAV as of today; scanned from Linux against a USB drive. Perhaps some review of the distribution might be in order?

I used to use PortableApps.com apps all the time when I was on the windows based OS. I have since switched to Mac. Do the apps work with Mac and Apple products?

The new update for SUMo is getting flagged by Windows Defender as a "severe" threat and quarantined automatically.

PortableApps.com Platform currently cannot launch .lnk shortcuts as apps from its menu. This can probably be fixed with a simple modification to the launching code (see below). I need this to dynamically generate portable apps from PWAs.

I have a portable version of PDF X-Change Editor (not from this site).

Most of my portable apps can be launched from a document by associating the document's file extension to open with the executable for the portable app.

So when I double click a document that is associated with the portable app, the app is launched with the document open.

But this one doesn't work. Double clicking the document opens the app, but not with the document open.

I received five emails last night about password reset requests in this forum.

I still have control of this account (you may PM me in TPFC to confirm), but I think these bogus reset requests are something you should know about.

Here's my problem : my computer crashed, PortableApps.com Opera Portable Edition was running.
When I restarted and tried to lauch it again, I got the error box :
"Une autre instance de Opera, Portable Edition est déjà en cours d'exécution. Veuillez fermer les autres instances de Opera, Portable Edition avant de lancer Opera, Portable Edition."
Problem is : there is no other instance running !
I tried to restore backups : I get the same error message on THIS computer but it works fine on another.

The live update.ini file currently has an invalid MD5 checksum in it for the base Portable Apps platform:
