As you know a PortableApp applications consists of an outer, wrapping Portable Component and the inner, core program.

I pinned now some of the outer PortableApps applcations on my hard disk to the Windows TaskBar.

When I click on one of them they are started, they set the environment and finally start the inner actual core application.
It works.

Unfortunately the started inner core application appears as a separate,new thumbnail at the right-most side of the Windows TaskBar.

I use Cruzer Glide sticks and each is named portablow can I rename in vs 19.1 to specifics like 60_TECH or 128_MT?

Hello John,

some apps, which are outdated, contain vulnerabilities, so the updates are really needed for security reasons.
And some apps are many versions behind (like Thunderbird).
So, how is the status of these apps?

Can I have multiple instances of the same application?

For example. may I install Firefox, change the folder name, install it again and have both work in parallel and be updated by the PA.c?

Starting a couple of days ago, all updated apps, once downloaded, get flagged by Avast v21.10.2498-build 21.10.6772.706 (signatures 211211-0) as either Win32:Evo-gen (susp) or Win32:Malware-gen.

Due to the generic names of the supposed malware I tend to believe it's a false positive, perhaps something with the wrapper that is being used, and I already reported it to Avast.

Still, could anyone run a check on the repository just to be on the safe side?

i have a problem with updating or installing new applications on several machines.
when i try to update i get "unable to download the file, this could be due to a proxy or network issue"

Sorry if the thread isn't for here but I have got recently an error with the app, I cannot run the browser. It says that I have to close other instances so I can run the Portable version but i do not have any Portable version opened. Checked on taskmanager and there's no any program running, what cause it?

P.S I can open the normal Firefox(not portable)

Since yesterday my portableapps launcher (start application) appears with 0 KB. Within all sub-directories in the PortableApps directory, all applications appear with 0 KB. I can't solve the problem. Pls. help!

CDRTFE has been updated to 1.59.1. It was last updated in 2018!
