Desktop Chrome interfering with Portable Chrome?

Submitted by mindstormer on September 23, 2014 - 11:56pm

Have a very frustrating problem that seems to be a conflict between running both Desktop Chrome and Portable Chrome at the same time. I get the message "Chrome detected that some of your browser settings were corrupted by another program and reset them to their original defaults" and had to resync everything. This wouldn't be that big of a problem if it weren't for:

1. I have a bunch of open tabs on Chrome Portable that I keep losing (Xmarks doesn't backup because Xmarks is signed out and even though the extension is synced back after Portable Chrome is wiped, its settings are lost).

Sysinternals Process Explorer - Not Portable?

Submitted by KhunRoger on September 20, 2014 - 7:33am

When Sysinternals' "Process Explorer" runs, it uses the registry to store its settings.

So when it is run on a PC that already has been set up to use Process Explorer (i.e. columns selected, colours chosen, font chosen, etc), these settings get irretrievably lost by the version of Process Explorer run from a PortableApps thumb drive.

Occasionally when I am running the PortableApps platform off of my 500GB Toshiba Canvio Connect Portable Hard Drive, all of the apps will crash and display the following message in a balloon from the notification area:

Windows-Delayed Write Failed

Windows was unable to save all the data for E:/@BitMap. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Taskcoach crashes when opening an existing file

Submitted by MobileUser on September 15, 2014 - 1:05am

I use TaskCoach on a daily basis and would like to thanks to your term providing this program.
This was a nice program until I upgraded it to 1.4.0 version.
Everytime I open an existing file in Chinese format it crashes.
There is no problems for other files in English format.
I have never had this problem.
It is fine if I load the same file with the version of 1.3.39
I believe that the there is a bug with the latest verion.
Can you please look into this issue? Thanks in advance.

[Fixed] PA.c Installer says 'not enough free space' when installing via platform to UNC path

Submitted by bamboo on September 11, 2014 - 8:25am

I am storing apps on a large NAS with lots of free space.
Several times I have seen this issue, where it is reported that the target device does not have sufficient space ... the current problem was with 'seamonkey.' ( I don't know how to paste the message into this note.) Other apps that download at the same time do update however.
I have tried the update of seamonkey by itself with the same resulting error.
Any suggestions?
