At my school, the computers are locked down to the point that most of the Windows customization is disabled, and their network policy states that if students install ANYTHING on a computer without an administrators written consent, they threaten to suspend or even expel students. That's why I use PortableApps.com.

A few of the things that I am not allowed to mess with that bug the crap out of me are as follows:
- Desktop Background
- Pinned Applications
- Taskbar Icon Size
- Taskbar Autohide Setting

1 Firefox Portable - sure deal
1 Iron Portable - sure deal

Chrome portable used to be my 3rd one. Since iron.exe became chrome.exe what is my best bet?

Edit: I was not clear enough. I am familiar with Chrome-like browsers and Firefox. Preferably I do not wish to implement and learn a 3rd one, I would rather use a second profile in either Chrome/Iron or Firefox. I do not necessarily want to delve into editing .ini-s and such, a simple one click solution is preferred which 'just works'.

The question is which one is it?

I'm not sure how many days ago this started and if it coincided with an iOS and therefore a Safari update. Have tried an iPad reset which didn't fix the problem.

Pages display correctly then get redrawn with another plain red banner under the PortableApps.com banner about 50% taller, then get redrawn correctly again.

Not a big problem, just a little irritating on the eyes, one gets used to looking away from the screen for a second or two.

Anyone else see this?

is it possible to make libre office portable WITH file association ?

i dont ask can i or can someone make i ask only if its technically possible with portableapps launcher ?

I have to burn a virtual CD with iTunes, don't ask me why ( https://portableapps.com/node/39272 ).

Might need admin rights but at least I want a portable version to run from thumb drive. What are some good ones?

Today an updated Iron Portable was released and this update is buggy. It just does not run at all. Every time I try to start Iron, I get this error message: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y9vp54z33qak53n/IronFail.png

I tried to reinstall app completely, it didn't help. Obviously, the problem is with the app itself. I am using PortableApps.com Platform 11.2.

We're transitioning a change in one of our freeware download networks which may result in some outages over the next 24 hours for some users. There are 3rd party legal DRM removal tools. ( http://mp3.about.com/od/essentialsoftware/tp/best_drm_removal_software.htm ) I don't want to do anything with the DRM just not use the annoying Audible client to listen to the books.

What are my better portable options? Perhaps anyone tried these for playback? Any of these are preferred over the other?

What happened to CrystalDiskMark v3.03 Portable??

It is in the app directory, but comes up as 404 when you go to download from sourceforge.net.

Searching sourceforge.net turns up nothing.

How to change default directory of the folders "Music," "Documents," etc. on the launcher? I did some googling and found this feature requested many times several years ago, but could not find whether or not this feature is now released. A way to change the name of these folders would also be very useful.
