Hey guys,
I may be getting a new USB drive (same size or larger capacity) and wanted to know the recommended way to copy everything over to the new drive.
Can I just 'copy' it over (or first copy the contents to my PC's HD and then copy to the new USB drive)?
Or should I use the 'backup' button on the portableapps menu?
Hello for all
I would like to have as on U3 a software which with the launching of portableapps modifies the wallpaper.
-It is possible to launch a software to the starting of portableapps? If yes how?
-Do you know a software which modifies the wallpaper at its launching ? if yes, which ?
Thank you in advance

I would like to know if it is possible to make groups of software like Pstart or simply like Windows?

If yes how to do it?
I would like to put much software and to organize them in files classified by theme.
Thank you in advance

dear sir,
I downloaded one theme from :
http://usb.smithtech.us/themes/pam/cute/index.php
When run the .exe file , I follow the instruction:
xtract to your \PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\App\DefaultData\Theme directory
**I open folder "\App\DefaultData\Theme directory" in my USB drive
But the theme cannot display !? Where is the right path for the theme ?
Thx
Tommy
I use 2 portable USB 2.0 Notebook (2.5) Hard Drives, I don't know if it is the computer itself which came with Windows Vista, but when I run larger portable apps such as Firefox, the drives freeze up (steady red light on the case). I am also having trouble copying large folders. Anyone else have this issue with Vista?
I've been experimenting with tumblelogs recently and noticed that one of their features is the ability to import RSS feeds from other sites. Is it acceptable for me to import the https://portableapps.com/feeds/general feed?
Can you add a .swf file to the Portable Apps menu? Or is it ONLY .exe files?
I'm a newbie on PortableApps.com, so go easy on me. I have been reading a lot the last couple of days and have become a lot wiser considering portable applications although I have some blanks that still need to be filled in (for instance how to check if a portable app found on the internet is truly stealth). I have also started to try out different kind of USB menu's to see which one fits my needs.
I'm new to this...
Got me a drive... Runs U3. I added a few apps to it.
Now I found your package...
Does that replace the U3 stuff? I mean it's different and not compatable, righ?
I go U3 or Portable Apps, right?
How does the portable apps suite work, would it install to the U3 partition instead of the normal partition?
