General discussions of portable apps and news.
I'm looking for a portable graphic calculator, and one that can also do stuff like showing null points and min/max and all sorts of other stuff not just draw a graph.
Better yet is a combined program that can also do scientific calculations.
Yet i cant manage to find a good program that does this.
PortableApps offers a scintific calculator named SpeedCrunch which is nice but doesnt offer graphic calculation.
Does anyone know of a good program that accomplishes this?
Just curious, is there a reason why I'm not getting any newsletters? I signed up 2 months ago, and I don't seem to be getting anything.
I would like to see Open Office use less real estate with it's icons. One icon to start the suite would be sufficient.
Hi,
I'm planning to talk about PortableApps on my blog sometime, but I don't know whether to do it now or wait for version 2.0, not only that, but is it OK if I can get an image of the PortableApps.com Menu so I can show people what I'm talking about? I'm going to be linking to the site anyway! I was thinking of waiting until 2.0 comes out as it will show a major release!
Thanks in advance! I'm really looking forward to doing a blog post as last week I did a bit of an argument about buying software when there are Free and Open Source alternatives available!
I was wondering... I just downloaded Opera@USB 9.63 and I wanted to know if it leaves traces on computers that it uses. It works great on my flash drive but i don't know if its any good... does anyone know if its like PA and doesn't leave traces or if its like U3 and does do so?
Ok, here's my first step into theming 1.5:

I must say the new menu is amazing and well worth the wait. One of my favorite things is I can easily change an app's icon now :D. Anyways my thought is we can now tell people how to change the icon (simply replace appicon.ico). But when I go to upgrade the app next time my custom app will get overwritten by the launcher :(. So my thought is to add a little line into the appinfo.ini probably under [Control]. Maybe CustomIcon=false. Then if you want a custom icon you can put it in the AppInfo folder named customicon.ico, and change the value to true.
Hi guys
Just wondering if PA is still developing InfraRecorder Portable? This is not a request for update as I know things get done when there done and its done in peoples free time and so on. Just simply asking if PA.com is still developing the app? I've just been looking at the base apps website and thought about replacing Nero 8 on my home as Nero seems to use a Lot of resources when running.
Instead of loading the sourceforge servers, using the bit torrent protocol would be a better bet for downloads like the Portable Apps suite, as it is massive in size compared to individual programs. It makes sense given the volume of downloads reported by the site.
Many Linux OS distributions have also adopted the same approach as it saves them a lot of server bandwidth.
