I have just installed PAC on a Maxtor Mini One Touch III - 100 gig. I have it plugged directly into an HP NW8440 w/ 2 gigs RAM running Windows XP Pro Build 2600 xpsp SP2. I have disabled the on board touch pad because I have a Logitech MX500 mouse and Summagraphics SummaSketch III tablet pluged into it. The mouse (USB) & tablet (RS232) are plugged into an HP Port Replicator. When I start the PAC menu I can usually load one program without any problems. After that ever time I load a program the mouse will just stop working.

Okay. This probably is redundant. I want my portable apps menu to be invisiable. The magic color that does this in the computer (HTML code) comes to FFOOFF.

The problem is that when I convert the bitmap (which keeps the color correct) to a jpg, it looses the color code changing it FFOOFE. That one letter makes a heck of a lot of difference (just to the computer), giving me a magenta background.

Yes, I searched. Unfortunately, there was too much to sort through.

John, will you consider making the newer launchers available separately, even if only on the SF pages?

I have no clue how to save all my Apps (email, Gaim, etc)? When I close the program and re-open it at a later time I have to re-enter all my info again. Should it auto save or do I have to do it manually? Cheers

U3 offers a program called wallpaper swapper. It loads bmp files as wallpaper as long as your U3 is plugged in. Is there a way to do this with portable apps?

I just purchased a SanDisk Micro drive with U3. I rather use portable apps but I need to know that my drive is secure. I do like the fact that U3 has a security feature but rather use portable apps. Is Truecrypt the solution? Also, I purchased a disk which is 4 gigs. Should I create the volume to be 4 gigs and secure my whole drive?

I need a program to share/synchronize a folder with a friend with the following requirements:
- encryption
- open source
- autostart & traymode
- We both need to be able to insert an external hostname from an dyndns provider because we have both dynamic ips.

Howdy All,

Looking forward to using this great program but every time I install it on my 8GB flash drive it seems to install fine but nothing will run. I just get the quick flash of the DOS window and then it closes, that is it. I just downloaded the program again to see if perhaps the last one was corrupt. It is at 51% thus far so we will see but last time it would not autorun nor would it if I clicked on the .exe.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers!

Does PortableApps Require a U3 Flash Drive? Or can I just use any ole flash drive? If I don't need a U3 flash drive, what are U3 drives good for?
