WikidPad Portable

Submitted by Espreon on March 13, 2007 - 11:43pm

Wikidpad is Wiki-like note-taking software, eventhough it is very portable to start out I made it more portable. Wikidpad is opensource software, so enjoy!

By the way , Wikidpad Portable currently for some reason is incompatible with the PortableApps Menu, but can be used by double-clicking on the Wikidpad Portable icon.

Portable App Installer

John Bentley's picture
Submitted by John Bentley on March 13, 2007 - 9:41pm

This application technaclly is portable. It, however, was not intended for portable use. It was made for downloading programs and installing them automatically. It currently has a number of programs from portableapps.com and a few other apps.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pa-install

Note: this is open source/MITed.

Features:

Auto-Update: I can update the application list on my site and it will get the new apps. This can be disabled by deleting the updateiniurl key (or by setting it to an empty string).
Direct Copy: Dont't extract, copy.

This is a test release of Media Classic Portable it comes with a codec pack that would normally be packaged with mplayer but it works well enough with media player classic. Plugins are stored in Data\Plugins and then moved to the app directory so that any media file you play the plugins are activated and after execution the plugins are moved back into the plugins directory. The registry location is at HKCU\Software\Gabest\Media Player CLassic.

Sumatra PDF Portable 0.5 Pre-Release (Testers Needed)

John T. Haller's picture
Submitted by John T. Haller on March 12, 2007 - 6:52pm

As I'd promised last week, I've posted a test version of Sumatra PDF packaged in PAF format. It's the lightweight Sumatra PDF PDF viewer for viewing PDFs on the go. This package automatically regenerates Sumatra's settings file on each launch so it won't prompt to set as the default PDF viewer and so it won't keep your most recently used file and open it up on launch (since it probably won't exist anyway).

Please give it a try.

ok guys this is my own test release for sumatrapdf reader (John Haller I only used this app to test out my latest revision to my portable app script in hopes that I can improve upon my SWORDPortable (I'm not trying to put my apps before your's john because I picked this app for the above reason and the fact it is also small and which makes it easy for me to upload on a 40 kpbs dialup connection(Actually I finally got SWORDPortable to save settings but it won't launch from the portable apps menu quite yet)) anyways the link to SumatraPDF is

App Launcher 1.2.0.3 + Easier U3 instructions for Sandisk Drives

Submitted by SmithTech on March 9, 2007 - 8:39pm

I posted an update to App Launcher.
1.2.0.3 fixes an issue where App Launcher would select "Use Volume Label" when the volume had no label for the set environment variable option.

Also posted easier instructions for installing it on Sandisk U3 Drives.

P.S. App Launcher also works on non-U3 Drives.
