maybe it's the wrong place , but i did not know where ask this question

well some years ago , i bought cool edit pro 2000

i love this program, Audacity is a good alternative

but cool edit is still my fav audio editor

now, it can work under xp and windows 7

but it was codec for w98se or w2000

i would like to make it portable because i don't want to harm w7 and xp
and because i'm a novice

well is there a tutorial to make a portable version of my legit old copy of cool edit pro 2000?

So I go download portable nethack, because I don't want to install an app.

To my surprise, the downloaded file is an exe.

In my books, a portable app does not require installation. So what's up with the executable? I expected a zip that I could extract to a folder, and I expected to see NethackW.exe inside that zip, so I could simply run it.

I can't seem to find the page that listed which portable apps are compatable with wine.

I'm having some problems with some running in wine in Fluppy(and offshoot of Puppy).

Apparently my searching skills are not up to snuff.

I had an old version of PA. Working. Downloaded new version 10. Installed.
I have no clue whether the new replaced the old or whether 2 can run at same time.

I have 2 PA windows open, HELP says version 1.6 for both. Is PA built to run in stereo mode? Where then is "10" ?

Also the AppProgram menu is higher than the available screen space. (Only 1 line in the Win7 Taskbar. The lowest part is unreadable. )

I explain: when I restart the system, I have to exit manually these programs in order for the next boot they start properly. Can you fix it that I don't have to quit them manually at restart and they can start the next time I boot up? I hope you can understand the situation.

I have Winamp install on my system. I download the Winamp portable from here: https://portableapps.com/node/24503 . I open the portable Winamp and i close it. After that I open normal Winamp which was installed already on my system and it opened like first time. I mean it ask questions the same when I had open it first time on my system.

I try it 3 times. I always face the same problem.

The portable apps of this site changes the settings of default installed applications?

Hi everybody i'm sure there might have been a post about this somewhere but the search provided no results , anyway what i am trying to accomplish is to get my usb drive to behave like a u3 drive where upon insertion it pulls up the start.exe , now i didn't have the problem until after i installed a ton of apps on it then it wouldn't auto launch the start.exe i tried & tried & tried to recreate the autorun.inf here is what i currently have tried using this http://www.archidune.com/usb_intro , now i currently have no par

Generally you can't pin a portable app to the taskbar since the AppID of the launcher is different from the actual app executable, therefore the windows taskbar can not group them into one place.

or from the guide above

2) Extract the zip file; you will only need the mkshortcut.exe file inside the release folder.

For example mp3tag.Can that be added to the portable apps platform with the rest of the other portable apps? https://portableapps.com/node/18890

Or can I add any portable app to the platform suite? I prefer it to liberkey but I want to import some apps from liberkey to the portableapps platform that aren't available in the directory.

Has any one run Portable Apps from a CD Rom? I have an old laptop that I need to scan using Clamwin and there is no network port or USB driver installed and my client can not modify the laptop but needs to make sure it is clean. It does have a CD that works properly/
