Hello.
I have looked everywhere and cannot find the type of portable app creator that I want.
Basically I want to create a portable application that is sandboxed.
For example, if you open a portable Firefox and go to File-->"Save page as", and save the file on desktop,
the sandboxed Firefox would not save the webpage to desktop
but instead it would save to
%Firefox portable Directory%\Sandbox\%root directory%\Users\Admin\Desktop\

Love this idea of portable apps, has anyone seen a photo stitching app like Microsoft ICE or Hupage. It's used to build panarama's.

The last time I looked at this site (June 2010), the platform and a large collection of apps were available in one download. This was very convenient but I no longer find such an offering on the site! Is this a thing of the past?

I've noticed twice that it "seems" that my
Check for Updates only finds new updates when
I update the Portable Apps Menu itself. When I do that
and then do a Check for Updates it finds new updates.
I update all the new apps (Except I keep an old version
of Thunderbird because I like the Penelope Plugin)...
Then after that it doesn't find any new apps until
the next time I update the Portable apps menu (When a
new version comes out)...Has anyone else noticed this?

Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but every game I have purchased from gog.com is compatible with portable apps. Anyone else notice this?

Does someone know a flash drive, suitable for Portable Apps, which does tell a Windows host not to be "removable media" but rather a hard drive?

Background:
I am looking for a stick which may contain more than one partition to be seen on a Windows system. One of these partitions would contain a bootable LINUX (with WINE, of course), another one the casper-rw if needed, a third one Portable Apps (useable under Windows or LINUX/WINE), and even a fourth partition might be of interest to separate files for exchange purposes.

If we had a portable Wine we can also put it on our USB drives and we could use our portableapps with Linux distros which does not have Wine installed.

I know it is not exactly the same thing but TeamViewer has it's own official portable version which works with Wine on all Linux distros perfect: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx ( Select --> "Linux" and than "executable files, no installation required" )

Would be great also if will create a portable Wine for MacOS.

hi all
i got a question for the developers.
i've downloaded several different ports of the same program, which have been ported by different people. so, same program, different porters, alas different ports.
now, they all halt on initiate.
remembering that this ported program used to work a couple of months ago (any port i downloaded) and now none of any diferent ports work, what can i do to understand where the problem lies? touphy

It is possible to set the "check updates" option for all portable applications? I mean we use portableappsPlatform's Updater. We don't need the applications to check themselves.
