Allow FTP of portable apps paf files

Submitted by musen on May 16, 2012 - 1:55pm

I am requesting FTP functionality more than a specific app.

I would like to use filezilla to transfer various app paf files and then install that file manually, i.e. "Install a New App".

The reason is that my client sites lockout downloads but not FTP :-).

If we are allowed to download the paf files via portableapps.com -> Home Screen -> Latest apps and news... THEN FTP is just another way of doing that.

Thanks & best regards, musen

Bitcoin Client Portable?

Submitted by Usernamed on May 16, 2012 - 8:43am

I'm requesting this app because I use Bitcoin everyday and PortableApps.
Well, I used the search function, but no results.
The URL is http://www.bitcoin.org for the official Bitcoin client (also explains what Bitcoin is.), it is open source. As the Bitcoin client downloads blocks from the p2p network, it could take over 1GB of space total. But another client (which is also open source), called Electrum (http://ecdsa.org/electrum/)(also open source, GNU GPL v3), which does not download blocks, but checks them on a remote server.

Monkey Studio

Submitted by Compizfox on May 15, 2012 - 7:08am

I would like to see a portable version of Monkey Studio.

Monkey Studio is a light, alternative IDE for Qt. The latest portable version of QtCreator works, but is very outdated and it seems hard to make portable.

Monkey Studio is much less heavy, and it stores most of the settings in a .ini file so making the rest portable shouldn't be very hard.

Orwell Dev-C++

Submitted by tal on May 15, 2012 - 1:19am

we all know DevC++
This is the main site of the 2011 Dev-C++ fork
Dev-C++ is stand by itself.
people want only to code without any GUI,
it more simple for them to use Dev-C++.

and it also portable:

i wish it was in portableapps.com format.

I use this dev-Cpp (this is the only one that works for me at win7 64bit).
if you can make this portableapps.com version i will be glad.

Tal.
