WinTin++ Mud Client

Submitted by wanderinweezard on March 11, 2008 - 9:44am

I really like PortableApps and use a lot of the tools. One program (that I believe fits the required criteria?) that I thought would be nice (but I lack the expertise) is the WinTin++ Mud Client. I can't seem to find a license agreement on their webpage, but the source is available for download.

I believe this is an original request because I have searched the forums for wintin.

fwbuilder for Windows portable?

Submitted by jglessner on March 11, 2008 - 12:30am

Here is the site: http://www.fwbuilder.org/

I would LOVE to see someone make a Windows port as a portable app. The Linux version is Open Source, but not their Windows version. I use this so I've purchased a license for the windows version, I just wish it was portable (this is the last program I need to truly say that every piece of software that I use on a daily basis is run from my thumbdrive!).

I'll lavish you with praise?

How about a case of free beer*?

Idea for non-open souce apps

Since you can not redistribute a modified version of a non-open source program, most people use launchers. I have a better idea. This may or may not violate lisence, but I dont think it will. What about this. There can be a patch for it. It will only wrk if you have the origional program since it will not host any of it's files in the patch, and it will not violate redistributing copyrights, as the program isn't being redistributed, just a program that modifys it. Would that work? I'd live to see Project 64 portable.

Vistumbler - similar to Netstumbler, but for Vista users

Submitted by gweilo8888 on March 9, 2008 - 11:33pm

Hi all

Any chance we can add Vistumbler (http://www.techidiots.net/project-pages/vistumbler)?

It's a Netstumbler-like program for Windows Vista, and is both open source and free. Even if it could only be installed without GPS functionality, it would still be a very useful app to have...

Thanks!

Two New Apps

Submitted by lszgalsky on March 9, 2008 - 10:58am

Two apps I would like to see would be Inkscape Portable and LimeWire portable. I use GIMP portable, but GIMP does not support SVGs, which Inkscape does. Also, would like for LimeWire to put my songs in my flash drive, and not My Music
