Shotcut video editor

Submitted by catbrier on October 11, 2016 - 10:08pm

Here's a previous request for portablising Shotcut: https://portableapps.com/node/53872. This was not supported because, at that time, it was 64-bit only. As of 16.10, Shotcut now has a 32-bit version, so I'm creating a new request.

Program: Shotcut

License: From the Shotcut site: "Shotcut is a free, open source, cross-platform video editor for Windows, Mac and Linux."

Description: Video editor (with feature list comparable to Adobe Premiere).

Kate

Kate is a powerful, cross-platform text editor much like Notepad++. It is native to the KDE Linux desktop environment and has been ported to Windows and Mac OS. I love using the same apps across platforms and having this added to the PortableApps suite would be fantastic.

Python 3.5 in PortableApps ?

Submitted by lomig on October 4, 2016 - 8:11am

Hello and thank you for PortableApps that I use very often.

Perhaps this question has been already asked : would it be possible to make a portable Python 3.5 for PortableApps please ? This means we could find Python 3.5 in the PortableApps menu and could choose to install it on the USB key as we do for others apps.

Otherwise, is it possible to use "PortableApps.com Installer" or "PortableApps.com Launcher" to make our own portable Python ?

I wish you all the best.

Vectr - Vector Illustration and Editing Software

Submitted by Wickster on September 28, 2016 - 1:18pm

Hi all!

Vectr is an app similar to Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. It's fairly new and I believe it's out of Beta already. I don't think it's open source, but it is a freeware on multiple platforms which even includes an online browser app. I'm not sure if it meets PortableApps.com's criteria for being converted into a portable app, but it's worth a look at least. The interface looks really polished and very nice to work with.

The website can be found here: http://vectr.com

Thanks for checking it out .
