As I lack the ability to do apps, I would love to see DropBox as a Portable App

CuneiForm OpenOCR
this program is the best OCR freeware/open source, it's very good but not paragonable with FineReader or OmniPage tools.
This tool is multilanguage: more than 20 languages as English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Ukrainian and others.
It's came with a dictionary (for each language): this dictionary increase with new word contained inside document recognized.

LyX portable

Submitted by gmsms on May 19, 2011 - 3:00pm

Hello,

first please excuse my poor english.

LyX is a document processor that encourages an approach to writing based on the structure of your documents (WYSIWYM) and not simply their appearance (WYSIWYG): http://www.lyx.org.

Some years befor there has been topics about a portable LyX in PortableApps. But they didn't induce a portable Lyx.

On http://code.google.com/p/lytex/ there has been a portable Lyx für a while. It worked well, but it is abandoned now.

LyX had a a great leap forward now with the version 2.0, that was published this month.

Package manager?

Submitted by tommaso on May 15, 2011 - 9:50am

Hello, I'm new in your community. My question is not a very request, but a suggest: cool download managers (such as winwget, wxdownload fast, free download manager) exist yet, and an updater too (you are building one in the new platform 2.0, aren't?)... why don'use them to build your own portableapps.com "package manager" (just such as a linux distribution)?
