PWGen

Submitted by adamjkok on September 16, 2010 - 12:25am

I would like to see PWGen as a portable app. It's a flexible, open source password generator for Windows. As an admin of several private sites which require me to add users and assign passwords (instead of letting users make their own accounts), I find this utility VERY useful and use it A LOT, so having it on my USB drive would allow me to use it on any computer, even without admin rights (at school, for example). I understand that there *are* online password generators, but I don't trust them for important stuff, and prefer to generate passwords locally.

Looking for an orbitouch like solution for gamepads

I'm looking for a game pad typing solution for dual joystick typing.

Stipe, is an open source (linux) software that is set up to use two joysticks to type.

Switchblade pro is another, however I believe it is going commercial.

The orbitouch keyless keyboard was originally designed to remove repetetive finger and wrist movement, switchblade was a software adaptation for use with xbox controlers that had dual analog sticks.

What would be needed to get Apache Ant ported ?

Submitted by sirgeek on September 14, 2010 - 5:05pm

Afternoon All,

I'm trying to get a thumb drive setup so that I can use it to run some automated tests on individual people's machines (so that they can see everything on their machine, and not have to install anything).

I'm trying to setup ant (as the scripts to run everything are written in ant).

It needs Java (which I have installed on the thumbdrive). Should I just hardcode the JAVA_HOME to the JRE on the thumbdrive ?

Thanks for any help/suggestions !

Portable Alchemy

Although i know this app can run off a flash drive as is, i think it would be great if a portable launcher were created that could run it off the portable java runtime. their website is http://al.chemy.org/ Alchemy is a concept drawing tool that lets the user create shapes and the foundations of illustrations with a variety of tools.

Safari 5 portable version online?

Submitted by saronno on September 12, 2010 - 12:27pm

I noticed in this forum some old messages about Safari not being included in the portableapps.com database because of its license limitations, which would prevent the making of portable versions.

However, I found out a web site ([Link removed by Mod Tim, see below]) which actually claims to provide a fully portable version of Safari5 for Windows.

How can that be possible?
