This is a very good Operating System. It a Linux distrobution made mainly by John Andrews, Robert Shingledecker, and Robert Lindsay. There are other members, but you can check this out @ damnsmalllinux.org. DSL is a very versatile 50MB mini desktop oriented Linux distribution.
Damn Small is small enough and smart enough to do the following things:
* Boot from a business card CD as a live linux distribution (LiveCD)
* Boot from a USB pen drive
* Boot from within a host operating system (that's right, it can run *inside* Windows)
* Run very nicely from an IDE Compact Flash drive via a method we call "frugal install"
I know someone has mentioned Peer Guardian before, and I just wanted to request it myself. I'm new to the forums but not to this site, and I love the portable apps. This is my home page, and my 1 gig goes with me everywhere. I just came across this program and noticed that it was open source, so I figured I'd throw it out there.
Here's a link if you're willing to check it out:

Essentially it's an IP blocker, designed to protect your privacy during Peer to Peer transfers. It was not developed for illegal activity, just to protect privacy. Anyways, let me
Would it be possible to make a portable version of Tor or something similar? This would be very useful for the... erm... paranoid...
Thanks
When I was browsing the Operating systems download section, I saw information about downloading an emulation for a Macintosh on stick. I then thought wouldn't it be wonderful if windows was on a stick! I did a search, and what do you know! There is a legal version of Windows CE emulator in Windows to download. It needed no ROMS, etc, and as soon as the instructions were followed, it worked! Could someone add it to the list!
Any chance this app can be made portable?

Hi
could you look at this Kbasic IDE personal edition (interpreter)
the IDE feels like VB6 and is VB6 syntax compatible, forms handle differently though.
I found it can be installed and then copied to USB stick - then works fine on other computers - see http://www.kbasic.com - download the personal edition - some limitations (does not compile only interpret)
I was wondering if you could do anything to make it more USB friendly, if needed?
thanks
Could someone make the google destop program portable?
