Portable App Development

not sure if this is where this goes, but everytime i run the portable apps menu, it loads a new copy of the program to the menu bar.

i would recommend that if it is run again it no longer loads a new menu, rather display the old menu that is already running.

im not sure if this is clear, but im just putting it out

can anybody point me to some kind of tutorial how to create a simple portable app?
I know the ApplicationPortableTemplate.nsi but the docs are not made for beginners, are they?

I have a Java application that saves its configuration in UserProfileDir/.appname and I thought this would be a good exercise

I'm making a batch file launch script thingy, and I was looking at licenses. Can I, (or should I) put a license on it? It would obviously be open source...
But then I thought that I might not even be able to put a license on a batch script.

So what do you guys think I should do? This is really just a step towards my eventual leap into programming, and I'd like to keep my work as my own, not as someone else posting it as their own and saying they made it.

So a while ago I download SciTE, and I like it, and then I see an official release of Notepad++ which I downloaded a few minutes ago and there seems to be no (major) difference.

So are you going to release both, or were you trialling both and then decided that Notepad++ was more appreciated by the community?

It includes a empty folder icon, top flap, and bottom flap

Hello everyone, I'm really new to Portable Apps.

I'm using the Portable Apps mod r15 and my Icons for each application are not showing up. There is just a black outline of a box in place of each icon.

Does anyone know why this is?

I want to make an app portable, but it uses registry keys.
So, is there a tool that can determine the used keys and maybe write a .reg file to add and delete those keys from the registry ? If yes, how does it work exactly ?

We need more emulators! Like Portable DosBox or Nester or Daemon Tools n stuff.

Which emulators would you most like to see made into portable apps?
