Portable App Development

Hey everybody,
I've been going around this site in amazement thinking how many of my favorite programs I could use out of the house, so I decided to try it with Flash MX 2004.

Now bear with me this is my first portabilized application so there will be some registry entries left over.

1. Install and authorize your copy of Flash MX 2004, then navigate to the programs main folder (in my case C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\).

2. Make a folder to hold the program's files (I recommend directly on your flashdrive, that is if you have about 32 MB to spare).

Is there any way someone could make a launcher for this app. I would really apreciate it.

Hey man Love your work on this.. But I'm here to tell you that the Backup/restore don't work all that good... I Tested it out on 3 flash drives and it did not copy the hole drive.... It only copies half the drive...

There appear to be three flavors of portable now: truly, clean, and dirty.

- Truly-portable does not modify the host at all.

- Clean-portable modifies the host but restores it after running.

- Dirty-portable runs amuck, leaving changes, removing/adding files/registry, or :gasp: installing services!

I'm new to the portable apps world (and this webby), and i must say i'm impressed.
I've ported my first working application, which i noticed there are many requests for.
I would like to post my portable Shareaza on this webby for testing, but i would like to first know.

1)Does me posting this application break any rules for the website?
2)What is the correct way to submit this appliaction?
3)Can the application be posted with rapidshare links for download?

etc etc.

Anyway, please reply and tell me the correct way to do things.

UPDATE

Well, I got one request, and one suggestion.

However, I've decided to take a shot at making A Note/A-Note portable.

Has John T or anyone else considered compiling a one time use Firefox which leaves no traces on the host machine, or on the portable device it is run from?

Opera has a one time use edition at www.kejut.com/operaportable but which still uses folders created in the local settings temp folder. Opera says all information is completely destroyed upon shutdown but there are doubters to this.
