Portable App Development

Hello

Because there is no general update and upgrade function for the installed apps, when i want to update i go on the portableapps site. i have to open every programm and check which version is installed and if there is some newer one (exept some progs like firefox or thunderbird which can make update themselfes)

It would be great to be able to see the programm version in portable apps for all programmes installed via paf.exe archives.

my idea:
for example add one more txt file called version.txt in the App or Data Folder of every app.

I am only writing this because I know how confusing Nsis can be, especially since it really hard to find info about certain code uses. So I propose one in autohotkey which has great documentation, and anyone could learn the basics in about 2-3weeks tops. so here is my code to redirect the profile and if anyone wants to help, we can make a launcher so users have more choice than just nsis.

so, i have been using portable apps for a long time now, but i have only been a member for about a month. a wile ago i played with "mac on stick". it took me a little wile. but i got it, and if you have ever gone to the os section, above mac on stick it say linux "coming soon", and its been that way for a long time. i found, that if you look into Damn small linux, you can download an embeded version of it. off of one of the links on the site. this has a opening open. it was a little hard to download, at least for newbs, so if you would like me to email the folder to you.

I noticed that this program using 7z command version to compress files for backup, I also wish to compress files, but not for backup, to hide files in pics. https://portableapps.com/node/15648. That is the script I wrote that uses 7z command version, but I cannot get the added archive to go to the directory I want it to, and also the same with the extracted files later. I also have problems with folders that have spaces in them as it doesnt work for them. If you could give me any help or examples that would be greatly appreciated

I'm working on a launcher for a Java application and wish to have the console window to be minimised at startup.

The use of the javaw.exe executable (instead of java.exe) is not a suitable solution as certain console messages need to be visible.

At the moment, the code snippet below launches successfully, but with a normal console window:

Right now, I'm working on packaging the whole LGames suite.
Unfortunately, 2 of the Apps I like best, LTris and LPairs, dont have windows ports. They are sourceode and linux only.

So my question is this:

Is there anyone willing and able to port them or help me giving it a try?
Or update LBreakout2 to the latest version?

I emailed the guy in charge and he would be greatful if we could find someone as all the windows ports werent done by him but different people.

Here's MrBar again. I've done it for testing the new features of R34. Yesterday, Elite343 sends me a new theme where he packed some themes in one folder. I never realized this could be done. So I've stolen his idea to publish MrBar again

this really annoyed me as copying and pasting when they are that long wasn't really easy.

so I made them available for download on my github account in the

portableapps repository.
