Discuss portable app development and modification of existing apps.
Okay first of all I am a n00b so try not to get frustrated with me. I'm trying to install the Suite Standard Edition on my 2GB Dane-Elec USB drive. The executable file opens and the program runs. I select the drive and click install and the progress windows pops up. After ten minutes there is still no progress.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance everyone!
How do I pass a parameter to an executable that appears on the PortableApps menu?
For instance, I am using Truecrypt and when I launch Trucrypt I want it to auto mount my favorite volume. In order to do this I need "truecrypt.exe /a". I have looked all over but I have not been able to find any documentation for PortableApps. Sorry if I'm missing it.
Thanks,
Edub
I own a couple of computers and I love using Portable Apps on my windows machines but it would be really great if there was a version for OS X. I have a few friends that also wish for an OS X version of Portable Apps. Of course it would be a completely separate platform with different apps but it would be a great future release.
Hi!
My last theme in 2007: Fox. It's overdue and I hope you can't live without.

I would like to appologize in advance if I am duplicationg a topic. (ADD and Dial-up DO NOT go together!)
anywayz...
I would like to see Sub-menu folders added to the menu.
I have a few Apps installed and I keep the installers on my jumpdrive (PNY Atache) and often mistake the installers for the actual application. I would like to see a Group-menu or sub-foler menu similar to the "All Programs" selection on the Windows XP start Menu.
Doing so may also allow for grouping of programs such as anti-virus, installation, and Web-browsing applications.
Maybe there could be a check box, so that when it is checked the menu does not fade out? I know that you could just change the options in the config file, but this would make it accessible for day to day usage.
So whatcha think? Is this a good idea?
I was looking around for some batch file renamers, so you can rename multiple files at once very easily, and the three I liked were these:
Ant Renamer
Some of you may have heard of this. It's GPL'd. It's probably the simpler of the them. It's got an easy way to set many renaming rules, and the interface is pretty easy to grasp. There's some screenshots here to give you a basic idea.

Hey everyone!
Im pretty new with all the portable stuff (Portable Apps, Thinstaller, U3, etc.)
But i'm relatively experienced with Miranda IM and some other IM Apps...
I was thinking about implementing IM-History along with Miranda IM or any other IM app...
Can be found at the adddress: www.im-history.com
The general idea is to save your IM History globally and not only on the Disk-On-Key/ Network Drive/ Zip Drive, etc.
Having this ability will also allow the user to have seperate IM apps installed on different machines and locations
