Portable App Development

I know this is 'crazy' but still. Would the 'calling' PortableApp interfere with the 'called' PortableApp in any way ?

I was looking for a way to redirect reads certain registry keys. I found that detours can do it. But there was a problem: I need it for a commercial application, and detours are too expensive. Therefore I can not use cracked or pirated products. What alternative products can you recommend?
I would be grateful for any advice.

I'm new to this portable app setup, but I intend to try and get Paint.NET portable. I could do with some help if people are willing to give a hand.

TextPad 6 and 7 have gone what I call "semi" portable. If you launch it with two command-line parameters:

-f [directory for the configuration file]

-k [directory for the license key]

it will get its setup etc. from those directories.

I've got the following directory structure:

TextPad.bat

in "PortableApps\TextPad"

Is it possible to get the portable apps menu to collapse categories when it loses focus so when I "open" it all of the categories are collapsed, this appears to be the default position when it first opens but then it remembers which category I last expanded and keeps it expanded.

How to make portable software that is compatible with PortableApps.com?

Hi Folks,

I've made quite a bit of progress towards a working Game Maker 8.1 PortableApp, however, have one issue:

Game Maker appears to store the license under %APPDIR%/Local/GameMaker8.1. Ideally, I'd like for this to be stored on the USB Key but it is ok for PortableApps to push the directory and key temporarily and remove them.

I've tried several methods, but expert advice would be helpful.

I have finished creating a portable version of Trillian 5.3 that works.
It does have some rough edges though, and I could use some advice from the
pros on here that actually have a clue what they are doing (because I do not).
The obstacle I have is that on a Windows 7 system, a Trillian installation puts stuff in:
\Users\\AppData\Roaming.
I need to know how to force the launcher to create that structure under the Data area (TrillianPortable\Data) on the portable app host.

Hi. I'm having this problem where the theme doesn't load properly and reverts to default when the drive letter changes, but all the other settings are changed properly as the drive letter changes.

First I tried re-installing the theme, but the chrome-webstore thought it was already installed. So I reset the theme to default from settings, and restarted chrome(It didn't seem to do anything otherwise), and re-installed the theme with no problem, but It didn't fix the problem.
