Portable App Development

Hello. I use the portable apps at work, so the documents i have into the drive are confidential.

I have seen that the backup aplication uses 7zip to compress the backup folder. 7zip has an option to encrypt the compressed file by a password. The bakcup application could be inproved by giving the option to encrypt the backup file.

Hello. I use portable apps at work and it could be interesting for me to be able to change the music, video and pictures folders for the folders I really use.

For the time I use them to save files of my work, not music, nor videos, nor pictures.

I am looking to run a batch script when portable apps is started to set some environment variable to add some of my command line programs to the path. What is the best way to do this, I was thinking of making the script start PA after it has set the path is this ok? or is there something else?

I've created a portable version of Yahoo! Widget engine, and I want to upload it as an installer and share the Launcher with the community.

But, I've a problem with NSIS during compilation.

The Portableapps.com Installer gives me the following error

 Function: "PreWelcome"
StrCmp "$AUTOMATEDINSTALL" "true" equal=, nonequal=PreWelcomeEnd
StrCmp expects 3-4 parameters, got 5.
Usage: StrCmp str1 str2 label_to_goto_if_equal [label_to_goto_if_not]

i am currently using windows 7 and i don't like office official installed version it's like a cancer to the computer with all this msi files and etc so i'm using portable version but now it's stop working any chance someone here will do something about it in the near future?

Hi, I've coded a simple unread mail notifier, and was wondering if you guys thought it's worth to beta test it here. The program is fully portable (uses an ini file, no registry access except for run at startup option.) and was coded in Delphi 7 using the Indy Project . Download here: here (about 350kb) I'm not sure about Vista compatibility, could someone please verify this?

I habe installed gnu cash portable, It works but when i want to print a result i just get a correct preview but the print itself is a mirror print which can only be read from the back of the paper.

How to personalize the new version of the launcher? Previous version was much easier to change themes, user´s picture, etc. For example, how do I put a picture\scene in the place of the normal pop-up window?
