FilesToPreserve question

Submitted by prapper on September 22, 2009 - 4:15am

If I use this to preserve "appinfo.ini" (so I can read the installed version on an upgrade) everything works fine, as long as the file exists. If it's a fresh install, the installer complains that it's corrupt and quits.

Is it a bug or is there some reason I shouldn't be doing this?

Okay... I'm running into a problem with Eclipse Portable and I've thought for days about work-arounds but came up with none.

This is what happens...

Eclipse Portable launches with RunLocally function.
App is copied to System.
App is launched.

Now here's where the problem starts...

if the user changes workspace... at the current moment, eclipse.exe will close and start-up again, but the problem is that EclipsePortable.exe DELETE'S THE APP DIR!!!

Installers could use cancel button

Often I install apps at the public library and my time runs out in the middle of installation, so I take out my drive in the middle of installing the app and then Windows freaks out and tells me that it can't find the drive. No matter how many times I exit out of that message, it pops up again. And it won't let the computer shut down for like five minutes. Could the future installers include an exit/cancel button or is that just how NSIS is made to work?

okay i have made a few launchers for some games and im having a issue with the splash screen not showing up can someone take a look at them for me?

Heres the forum post for one of them: https://portableapps.com/node/20578

also can someone tell me how i can turn my launchers into paf live launchers so the files get downloaded automatically for people?

you can check the OpenSonicPortable.nsi file in the opensonic launcher and stuff if you need to look at the coding of the .nsi file
