I'm trying to make this program portable. I'm creating it using Thinapp using the normal method. When the portable exe is created and run, the actual clock doesn't display. The program runs fine in the background, I know this because if I double-click the exe again, the preferences window pops up and everything is working fine. But the actual clock display in the tray never shows up. i don't know why.
The only thing I know about the program as far as how it works is that it overlays a clock over the normal windows tray clock. I have a feeling that with the portable, the clock is behind the windows clock instead of in front of it, or something like that. Is it not possible to use this program as a portable?
I know the website is extremely minimal, but it's a legit program. The author had a problem with someone ripping off his software and selling it, that's why it's like the way it is. I've written an extensive review and story about it here:

We don't support ThinApp at all here. We do things legally. The vast majority of ThinApp things are illegal, and you can't redistribute them without paying a lot of money, above the thousands of dollars for the original license.
If you want to see how we do things here, take a look at some of the launchers in our apps.

Thanks. I didn't know that about thinapp. I asked and asked about how to make portables, and everyone I talked to either didn't know or said thinapp, thinapp, thinapp over and over. I've used the programs here and they are done nicely with the installer and everything. I'd like to do it that way also.
Use Chris's PortableApps.com Launcher for the launcher:

This allows you to do most of the stuff required to make an app portable just by editing a simple INI. Just make sure you read the help.html and you should be able to figure out the rest.
To make the installer, John Haller, the guy behind PortableApps, has released an installer packager here:

That should be all you need.
