GIMP Portable 2.6.7 Rev 3 has been released. GIMP Portable is the full-featured GIMP image and photo editor bundled with a PortableApps.com launcher as a portable app, so you can edit your photos and images on the go. This new release updates the included GIMP to the latest release and has an improved launcher and installer. GIMP Portable Help, GIMP Portable Background Window and GIMP Portable Photoshop Layout are also available. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. Best of all, it's open source and completely free.
Revision 3: A revision 2 release was pushed out to attempt to correct a default directory bug but it appears to have caused issues for some users. We have reverted to the original release (now re-posted as revision 3) and will work on the enhancement for the next version. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Features
The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc. Learn more about the GIMP...
GIMP Portable Background Window 2.1.3 and Photoshop Layout
Two extras that enhance GIMP Portable are also available: GIMP Portable Photoshop Layout and GIMP Portable Background Window. The Photoshop Layout add-on adjusts GIMP's dock/toolbox to more closely approximate the layout of Adobe Photoshop. The Background Window plugin allows GIMP to occupy a single window. The background plugin does contain known bugs and is unsupported but should still be useful to many users.
GIMP Portable Help 2.4.0
GIMP Portable Help 2.4.0 is also available. It allows you install the complete GIMP help files into GIMP Portable to make use of the context sensitive help or to use the help files when offline.
New in This Release
GIMP has been updated to 2.6.7 (release notes) and handles custom paths. The launcher and installer have also been updated.
PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format
GIMP Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It's packaged in the PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Comments
Once again, thank you
Once again, thank you for the timely release of my favorite Portable App.
Revision 2
I posted a quick fix as revision 2 that will now automatically use your documents directory for opening and saving images. This should make it easier for users to open and save images from now on.
Oops!
I Installed this and then spent around ten minutes closing each and every plugin during startup as they all crashed???
Any idea what caused this?
I installed over v2.6.6 btw. Also have additional Help plugin installed.
Rev.2
I cannot open any jpeg files. Always getting an error message. The former version 2.6.7 works fine.
Any idea? Thanks a lot!

Fix being released soon
This problem is being investigated and a fix should be released very soon. In the mean time, use this version without revision 2.
Revision 3
I posted revision 3 (which is the same as the original release) to fix the issues some users encountered.
Thanks
Great!! Thanks for this - it solved my issue 8)
Not truly portable
This version leaves a folder called "gegl-0.0" in the My Documents folder... not a big deal, but it's slightly irritating (and I have to wonder what else is "leaking"...)
Other than that, nice work! I love this app...
Solved...
This was a slight issue for some of us, me included, and has been solved here:

I presume that someone else may point out it is good practice to search the forum before posting and also to post support questions in the suppport forums, not the new's article.
Thanks
Thanks!
Thanks for that link, I'm trying it right now...
Sorry I didn't search, I hadn't noticed the GIMP support forum and it never occurred to me that this was a wide-spread issue... :S
EDIT: yes, the new launcher works... thanks again!
