In the RSS feed, the alt test
In the RSS feed, the alt text for the logo says Sumatra PDF.
So does the download link
The red box you click to download? It says Sumatra as well.
That aside, many thanks for this. OpenOffice is great and all, but it was XnView that made me leave MS Office XP, because MS Photo Editor (in Office versions XP and prior) was my default image viewer/editor for so long. XnView lacks a couple of the editing features I liked in MSPE (I think) but for stuff like that, I really need to learn GIMP!
Is this OK to download?
The MD5's don't match and there is no signature file. AV says it's OK.

Administrative rights needed?
Why does XnView needs administrative rights to be startet as portable app? Everytime I start it, Vista pops up the UAC confirmation dialog. Very strange, none of my other PAs show this behaviour...
same admin rights problem on Vista
Great to see Xnview available as a PortableApp but I have same problem as Frapl - asked for Administator login to use it. Very odd as I have been using Xnview downloaded from xnview.com up until now without this problem.
Manifest missing?
XnViewPortable.exe does not seem to include a manifest. I added a simple manifest file to the folder containing XnViewPortable.exe and Vista stopped asking for the admin password.

This is fixed in revision 2. John didn't base the launcher on our code used in all the other launchers and had used one of the templates by another author. Apparently, it has some issues. I've tested it more thoroughly and it appears to work properly now.
nothing replaces irfanview
When will people start to realize that nothing replaces irfanview, the most versatile photo viewer, converter and much much more. It would be nice if you guys could consider porting that into here.
Why no have signature in pacage?
I check every program launcher in portableapp have signature. Also in installer. Why? I no have problem with uac. . . .
all our
open source installers are digitally signed. Some/Most of our free ware apps are not. Thats because they are sometimes packaged by external companies/people and therefore their integrity can not be guaranteed.

Just install it from the website into your portable apps directory. (+ update)

okay i understand. i think is some ruler why john upload in portableapps.com and no at sourceforge.net. but i have lot of portableapp in all category like portable help maker and ect . but after i install to my flash disk, and i can't see addon folder in data folder.

XnView is not open source, and so we can't host it at SourceForge and must host it at PortableApps.com.

if yes is request registration or can just download it in developer site or in portableapp? i wondering if popular shareware app will joined. and i try build my launcher but is no clean registy from app directly and how make files or resource or profile in flash disk no used app was installed at host computer.
SourceForge is for open
SourceForge is for open source products. None of our freeware is on SourceForge - TeamViewer, for instance, is packaged and hosted by themselves.
I'm not sure about shareware yet; to a certain degree we'll be supporting it, but not fully just yet.
Inkscape is ready to go (I developed it) and is just waiting for John to publish it here.
WinAmp is coming.

What the best script to make portable launcher?
I see over forum i get autoit 3 and nsis. But some people used ms visual studio. But i can create with nsis . But i can't understand at registry call and to clean after app closing. And in autoit, in call and create folder i can't set it and registy no clean and create file at host. I need more study in this script . You can help me, like you give me a link to website tell me a nsis script or autoit. I no learn vb, c , c+, c++, java, phython, ruby, pearl,flash script, c#, and other. Yes i now busy my school and i don't like game computer but i like game console portable. But i can't post in forum sorry. And tomorow is special event.
