logoµTorrent Portable 3.3.0.29038 has been released by PortableApps.com. µTorrent is the world's most popular BitTorrent client. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). This release updates µTorrent to the latest release. It's packaged as a portable app so you download on the go and it's in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. It's released as freeware for personal and business use.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotµTorrent is the world's most popular BitTorrent client. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.

µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all.

Various icon, toolbar graphic and status icon replacements are available, and creating your own is very simple. µTorrent also has support for localization, and with a language file present, will automatically switch to your system language. If your language isn't available, you can easily add your own, or edit other existing translations to improve them!

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

µTorrent Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

All torrents old and new are saying Error: Invalid Download State. When you try starting them they a tray popup appears saying the Filename, Directory name or Volume Label Syntax is incorrect. This is since this update.

I've tried Forcing Recheck and Set Download Location but neither work. What could be the cause?

Thanks

I'd suggest deleting the Data directory to have it become a fresh install.

I'm getting the same thing here with old downloads (I don't have new ones to try).
I can confirm downgrading works.

Previously known as kAlug.

Yes, you would. Your other option is to downgrade, finish said downloads, and then upgrade.

I have no idea. I never maintain torrents between launches. I fire up the app, download what I need, and close it.

Ok thanks

Btw, I've added a couple torrents since updating and they're invalid too. I've deleted data folder and reinstalled.

I checked and when you download a torrent, the save path is relative.

If I set the DL location to the same path, it becomes absolute and works.

They changed settings for paths. You may have to start using absolute paths and replace on drive change.

Thanks for checking but I tried that as I said above.

I only use these apps on one laptop. This installation is on the internal drive so switching drives is irrelevant. Nothing changes apart from the update. I have a seperate install for my USB stick but don't use it, it's a backup, that's all.
