For anyone who upgraded and had their downloads not showing up, they were still present but in another location. This fix includes special logic in the installer/upgrader to consolidate both your download directories so you won't have to download anything again.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hello John,
can you tell me where the old and the new directories are? Because the directory (\PortableApps\gPodderPortable\Data\downloads) where they use to be was completle empty on my portable usb drive after installing this update!
Yours, m4f

They're back in gPodderPortable\Data\config\Downloads where they have been with all previous gPodder releases except for anything you downloaded with 3.3.0 (for those it worked for) or 3.3.0 Rev 2 over the last week.
