Features

jPortable allows you to easily add a Java® runtime environment to your portable device. It automatically works with apps in PortableApps.com Format like OpenOffice.org Portable. No Java® runtime environment needs to be installed on the local machine and no admin rights are required. The JVM will be downloaded directly from Oracle's servers as part of the installation process.

jPortable Launcher

In addition to using jPortable with portable apps packaged in PortableApps.com Format, you can also use our jPortable Launcher to run Java apps in JAR format. It will even automatically portablize the settings of many Java apps.

It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

After installing the x64 version update, the update check will continually tell me it needs to be updated - again.

This seems to be caused by an error at line 24 of the file: X:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Java64\App\AppInfo\plugininstaller.ini, which reads:

PackageVersion=7.0.10.1

After changing this to "7.0.11.0", the update check succeeds.
I tried deleting entire Java26 folder but this made no difference.

This is only happening on x64 version - the 32-bit version is ok.

I've replaced the existing package with a corrected one. It will hit the SourceForge mirrors within 15 minutes or so. Your fix is correct and the only thing you need to change if you happened to get the one with the incorrect PackageVersion.

The 64-bit package was updated to fix a version error earlier. I've updated the page and the updater DB to the new build so all should be working now. Sorry for the mixup.
