PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Apache OpenOffice Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

There was an issue with the original standard language set that caused some languages to still show English in sections of the OpenOffice UI when selected. The standard language set was repackaged as 4.1.1 Repack which addresses this issue.

Users of the All language set are unaffected. English users should be unaffected as well.

If you are affected, please download this new release and install it over your existing copy. Note that the platform will not automatically push out this repacked version if you already have Apache OpenOffice Portable 4.1.1 installed. If you have not yet installed or upgraded to 4.1.1 via the platform, you will get the repack version automatically. Platform users that wish to get the repacked version automatically via the app store and do not need to retain any existing settings for OpenOffice can delete their current copy of OpenOffice Portable and install a fresh copy.

Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Running from a NAS,a window appears with 'program cannot be started' and
'a general error occurred accessing your central configuration.'
This happens whether the 411 version is installed over a previous version or
as a new install.

Please ensure you are installing to a properly mapped drive. I don't believe Apache OpenOffice supports UNC paths.

Note that comments on a news story are a bad place to ask for support. Ask in the forums if you have additional issues.
