Unable to Download updated ClamWin

I bought a 4gig usb stick yesterday, and downloaded the Suite onto it. When I went in to check the ClamWin program it gave all these errors saying that it was out of date. I found the updated version, from the url it gave, and tried to install the updated version, but for some reason, it wont install to the usb, it installs it on the pc instead. i have directed the installation to the usb, and the right folder, but it ends up installing it on the pc instead. Can somebody help? Its getting really frustrating.

Thanks.

John.

The link

the program gives you leads to the normal version. There is nothing we can do to change that. If you want a new portable version, download the latest one from here: https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable
Just download it to your Desktop and run it. It will automatically find your USB drive and install itself to the correct location.

The rule with PortableApps

The rule with PortableApps is: check before you update. Not all PortableApp versions update gracefully.

The ClamwinPortable I've used goes in and updates its virus database and some other things regularly, without problems, but I've not seen it direct me to a URL.

The versions of some packages in the suite bundle are not the most recent (that is being worked on). The page just for ClamwinPortable probably has the most recent available (link in previous post).

At any rate, when you run it, by all means let it update its virus signatures, but don't let it tell you to go to their website and download something via your web browser. That would most likely get the "Portable" version all messed up.
